Pakistan Batter Fined For Palestine Flag On Bat, PCB Intervenes

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken a U-turn on its decision to impose a fine on batter Azam Khan for displaying the Palestine flag on his bat during a domestic match. As Azam Khan's team Karachi Whites took on Lahore Blues at the National Stadium on Sunday, his bat featured a Palestine flag. Subsequently, a 50% fine on the match fee was imposed on Azam. However, the PCB later reviewed and matter and decided to waive the penalty that was imposed by the match officials.

Council plans to dim street lights and move to four-weekly paper waste collections as part of £9.1M cuts

Bolton Council has revealed in detail how it plans to cut more than £9M from its budget to balance the books. The cuts which include dimming streetlights and only collecting paper and cardboard waste every four weeks will form the authority’s spending plan for 2024/25. The cuts include £4M trimmed from adult care in the borough with the efficiencies gained by a review of ‘care packages, placements and housing demand’.
