EWC teams test to be the best at Le Mans
The Pre-Test for the 24 Heures Motos gets underway today (Tuesday) as preparations intensify for the opening round of the 2023 FIM Endurance World Championship next month. Forty-four teams are set to take part in the two-day test on the 4.185-kilometre Circuit Bugatti, which traditionally serves as an early form guide for the twice-around-the-clock race from 13-16 April.

Yoshimura SERT Motul is offering fans a special opportunity at next month’s 24 Heures Motos, round one of the 2023 FIM Endurance World Championship. The Franco-Japanese team, which is going for a third consecutive victory in the Le Mans-based event, is selling a range of packages for the twice-around-the-clock race, which takes place from 13-16 April.

The FIM Endurance World Championship has received another boost ahead of the 2023 season getting underway at the 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans next month. On the back of confirming 38 permanent teams for the upcoming title chase – a 22 per cent increase compared to last season – EWC promoter Discovery Sports Events is delighted to welcome Gilles Stafler to its expert organising team as Sporting and Technical Co-ordinator.
Winning weekend for EWC aces
Several FIM Endurance World Championship riders were in action this weekend with Mike Di Meglio the most successful thanks to a victory double as the Championnat de France Superbike got underway at Le Mans. Back in the series for the first time in 20 years, Di Meglio – who will attempt to defend the EWC Teams’ title for F.C.C. TSR Honda France this season – headed Formula EWC category rivals Corentin Perolari and team-mate Alan Techer in Race 1 before edging out Techer in Race 2 with Perolari taking third.

Along with Florian Alt and Erwan Nigon, Odendaal helped French privateer team Viltaïs Racing – then running under the Viltaïs Racing Igol and using a Yamaha YZF-R1 – to a dramatic victory in the 100th-anniversary Bol d’Or, the deciding round of last year’s EWC.

Markus Reiterberger’s busy 2023 fires into life in Thailand this weekend when the FIM Endurance World Championship race winner goes for glory in the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. Reiterberger, 29, is contesting the six-event ARRC with the ONEXOX BMW TKKR Team alongside his EWC campaign with BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team. Lorenzo Gabellini has chosen the FIM Endurance World Championship for 2023 because of the gruelling challenge he will face competing twice around the clock. The 23-year-old former World Superbike racer will line-up for the No Limits Motor Team from Italy, which has switched from Suzuki to Honda power for the upcoming season.
