BMW-powered squads hit the ground running with fastest times so far in EWC 24 Heures Motos Pre-Test
BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team and Tecmas-MRP-BMW Racing Team have kicked off their respective bids for FIM Endurance World Championship success with pace-setting performances during the opening day of the Pre-Test for the 24 Heures Motos, round one of the eagerly anticipated 2023 EWC season. Featuring Jérémy Guarnoni, Illya Mykhalchyk and Markus Reiterberger, BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team set a best lap of 1m35.554s around the 4.185-kilometre Circuit Bugatti at Le Mans to top the Formula EWC category.
Ad Meanwhile, Tecmas-MRP-BMW Racing Team was the outfit to beat among the Superstock category contenders. Quickest in class during this morning’s session with a 1m37.643s, the Franco-Belgian alliance made up of riders Loïc Arbel, Jan Bühn and Kenny Foray went even quicker in the afternoon, completing Tuesday’s running with a best time of 1m37.001s FIM EWCEWC teams test to be the best at Le Mans14 HOURS AGO Fastest this morning with a 1m36.325s, Yamalube YART Yamaha EWC Official Team looked set to complete day one of the Pre-Test on top overall before BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team and defending EWC champion squad F.C.C.
TSR Honda France went quicker during the closing stages of the afternoon session. A second day of testing is scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) with the 24 Heures Motos opening the 2023 EWC season from 13-16 April.
