BMW team lights up Spa during EWC Night Practice
BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team was fastest as riders contesting the 24H SPA EWC Motos acclimatised to tackling the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps after dark during Night Practice. The Belgium-based squad clocked a 2m21.814s best with YART – Yamaha Official Team EWC second quickest, 0.221s behind with F.C.C.
EWC Cares launches as FIM Sustainability week begins
Discovery Sports Events, promoter of the FIM Endurance World Championship, is marking FIM Sustainability Week by launching EWC Cares. EWC Cares is fully aligned with the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM)’s sustainability strategy and is also a key element of the overall sustainability strategy developed by Discovery Sports Events but focusing specifically on the EWC.
Hanika leaves it late to top first EWC qualifying at Spa
Karel Hanika left it late to put YART – Yamaha Official Team EWC on top at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps following an action-packed First Qualifying for the 24H SPA EWC Motos. The Bridgestone-equipped Czech had trailed Florian Marino (Webike SRC Kawasaki France) in the Red Ridersession but snatched first place among the third of four groups on his last lap by a margin of 0.492s around the 6.985-kilometre track, which is hosting the FIM Endurance World Championship for the first time since 2001 this weekend.

YART puts down its marker in Spa EWC practice
YART – Yamaha Official Team EWC’s Niccolò Canepa completed Free Practice for the 24H SPA EWC Motos at the top of the timing order following the first track action of the FIM Endurance World Championship counter. Italian rider Canepa posted a 2m20.306s around the 6.985-kilometre Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, ranked as one of the most challenging on the international calendar, on his Yamaha YZF-R1.
Introducing the EWC’s Dunlop Superstock Trophy
New for 2022, the Dunlop Superstock Trophy is a joint initiative from EWC promoter Discovery Sports Events, Dunlop and the promoters of the individual EWC races. It follows on from the appointment of Dunlop as the single tyre supplier to the Superstock (SST) category.
EWC star Fores: Spa matches expectations
Xavi Forès said it only took him a handful of laps to realise just what a formidable challenge Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps really is. Spanish rider Forès had never sampled the 6.985-kilometre track prior to testing in readiness for the 24H SPA EWC Motos earlier this month.
