Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc took pole position at his home Monaco Grand Prix ahead of Sunday’s race. The Monegasque has yet to win at the street circuit since his F1 debut back in 2018, and Monaco is a Grand Prix that tends to favour the driver who starts on pole.

Race 1 and Race 2 at WTCR Race of Germany, scheduled as rounds three and four of the 2022 WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup, will not take place for safety reasons. The decision was taken following consultation with representatives of the FIA Sporting and Technical departments and official tyre supplier Goodyear Racing. Lewis Hamilton has been granted permission to wear jewellery at Monaco on Sunday, however, his quarrel with FIA is far from over, as they look to revisit the situation in July. The FIA, the governing body for world motor sport and the federation of the world's leading motoring organisations, initially threatened to penalise Hamilton after he refused to remove his jewellery ahead of the race in Miami at the beginning of the month.
WTCR Nurburgring Nordschleife races cancelled over Goodyear tyre failures
The two races, due to run on Saturday morning ahead of the Nurburgring 24 Hours, were officially canned shortly before the first was to begin. The decision follows a number of tyre failures during the two free practice sessions on Thursday and qualifying on Friday.
