Race 1 and Race 2 at WTCR Race of Germany, scheduled as rounds three and four of the 2022 WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup, will not take place for safety reasons. A full statement will follow.

WTCR ace Azcona’s big day ahead
Hyundai-powered Mikel Azcona is set for a busy day on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. As well as rounds three and four of the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup, the Spaniard is contesting the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring, also at the wheel of an Elantra N TCR.
No Qualifying points but Girolami remains the Goodyear #FollowTheLeader in WTCR
Néstor Girolami will be the Goodyear #FollowTheLeader when Race 1 at WTCR Race of Germany takes place tomorrow. Although the Honda-powered Argentine was outside of the points-paying positions in Qualifying, he nevertheless maintains his advantage at the top of the title order ahead of the first of two races on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Qualifying report: Bennani is best with sensational Nurburgring Nordschleife WTCR pole
Comtoyou Team Audi Sport’s Mehdi Bennani snatched pole position for Race 1 at WTCR Race of Germany with a sensational final lap in Qualifying on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, as team-mate Gilles Magnus just 0.015s slower around the 25.378-kilometre circuit. Bennani’s pole was his first in the WTCR and his time of 8m50.527s broke Néstor Girolami’s previous record of 8m51.802s set in September 2020. The performance earned the Moroccan driver, who has returned to race in the WTCR this season after two years away, 10 Qualifying points.

The Cyan Racing Lynk & Co driver is set to line up beside Norbert Michelisz who was ninth fastest in his BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse Elantra N TCR.
