FIA defends handling of delayed Monaco GP
MONACO: Formula One's governing body defended the handling of the showcase Monaco Grand Prix after rain delayed the start for more than an hour on Sunday, and a crash then caused another long stoppage.

Schumacher: Huge Monaco GP crash felt "super weird"
Schumacher lost control of his Haas F1 car while coming through the Swimming Pool chicane on Lap 26 of the race, snapping to the right-hand side of the track. His car glanced the armco before then going into the tecpro barrier at the exit of the corner.

Ferrari team principal Matteo Binotto called on the FIA to act after two Red Bulls appeared to cross the yellow line markers in the pits of the Monaco Grand Prix. Both Red Bull drivers, championship leader Max Verstappen and race winner Sergio Perez, seemed to cross the lines when they left the pits during the race.
Monteiro switches his focus in WTCR
Tiago Monteiro will assist official WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup tyre partner Goodyear as it continues the exhaustive process of analysing and addressing the issues that led to Race 1 and Race 2 at WTCR Race of Germany not taking place for safety reasons. The LIQUI MOLY Team Engstler driver backed the decision not to go ahead with the two races on the Nürburgring Nordschleife yesterday.

Sabíamos que el ‘graining’ sería un problema así que tuve cuidado con las ruedas durante 15 vueltas y luego empujé las otras 15. Guardé dos o tres segundos. Destrozamos las ruedas el viernes, así que sabiendo que había un esprint de 33 vueltas, pensábamos que no teníamos ruedas para acabar la carrera. Esto es Mónaco y me encanta mantener a otros pilotos detrás», dijo. Justo tras él quedó Lewis Hamilton, siete veces campeón del mundo. No pudo hacer mucho para que Ocon, por detrás, se salvara de su penalización de cinco segundos: «Abrí el hueco de seis segundos, pero Hamilton no tenía ruedas para apretar, así que fue su problema. Yo abrí un hueco suficiente».

Bjork praises “safety first” WTCR race cancellation decision
Thed Björk said he was “grateful” Race 1 and Race 2 at WTCR Race of Germany yesterday were cancelled, reasoning that “safety must come first”. Swede Björk, winner of the 2017 FIA World Touring Car Championship, commented after the rounds three and four of the 2022 WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup were called off for safety reasons after official tyre supplier Goodyear Racing confirmed that it could not guarantee that the tyres provided for the event would perform as intended.
