Austria Manager Ralf Rangnick No Longer Taking Up New Manchester United Role

Manchester United announced Sunday that Ralf Rangnick has decided against taking up a consultancy role with the English Premier League giants due to the demands of his new job as Austria manager. The German took charge of United on a caretaker basis for the last six months of the recently concluded 2021/22 season after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked in November and led the club to a sixth-placed finish in England's top-flight. Rangnick had been expected to stay at Old Trafford for the next two years in a consultancy post, but last month he was appointed as the new manager of Austria and it appears holding the two jobs at once is no longer a viable option for the 63-year-old.

Roman Abramovich Says Owning Chelsea "Honour Of Lifetime" As Sale Set For Completion

Roman Abramovich said Saturday owning Chelsea had been the "honour of a lifetime" after the Premier League club said the sale to a consortium led by Todd Boehly, the co-owner of baseball's Los Angeles Dodgers, was expected to be completed by Monday. Chelsea were put on the market in early March, days before Abramovich was sanctioned by the British government following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. "I am pleased this search has now come to a successful conclusion," Abramovich said in a statement after the British government and the Premier League approved the 4.25 billion pound ($5.3 billion) takeover.

"These Guys Are Legends": Pep Guardiola Salutes Manchester City's Champions

Pep Guardiola said Manchester City's Premier League champions are "legends" who will be "remembered forever" after their thrilling 3-2 win against Aston Villa clinched the title on the last day of the season. Guardiola's side looked set to gift the trophy to second placed Liverpool after Villa took a shock two-goal lead in the second half at the Etihad Stadium. But Guardiola sent on German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan and he sparked an incredible revival as City scored three times in five minutes in the closing stages.

Pep Guardiola's Perfect 10 The Tonic For Manchester City's Euro Woe

Pep Guardiola may not yet have delivered the Champions League crown Manchester City crave, but four Premier League titles in five years demonstrate a period of dominance to match his time at Barcelona and Bayern Munich. The Catalan now has 10 league titles to his name in just 13 seasons as a senior coach across three of the toughest divisions in the world. Few of those have been as hard-fought as City's latest title triumph. Guardiola's men were pushed all the way by a Liverpool side he described as the best he has faced in his managerial career.

5 Key Moments That Won Manchester City The Premier League

Manchester City are champions of England for a fourth time in five years after holding off Liverpool in a titanic tussle for the Premier League title. City's failure to land a natural striker to replace Sergio Aguero cast doubt on their title credentials as Liverpool and Chelsea strengthened their squads with eyes on the crown. Pep Guardiola's men again proved to be well-suited to the marathon grind of a 38-game season, but needed to summon the spirit of champions to seal the deal on the final day.
