"Yaad Rakhna, Haarenge Par...": India Stars' Heartwarming Conversation During Under-19 World Cup Final Goes Viral

A heartwarming conversation between India players Murugan Abhishek and Naman Tiwari during Under-19 World Cup 2024 final against Australia is going viral on social media. In the surfaced clip, the duo could be seen talking to each other in an extremely positive manner despite India staring at defeat. The conversation took place ahead of the fourth ball of the 38th over when India needed 103 runs off 75 balls with only two wickets in hand. "Yaad rakhna, haarenge par seekh ke jayenge (Keep in mind. We will lose but still we will learn)," was the chat between Murugan and Naman that was caught by the stump mic.

"Let's See If He...": R Ashwin Makes Expectation From 'Ignored' Cheteshwar Pujara Clear

After levelling the 5-Test series against England 1-1 in the second match, the Indian cricket team heads to Rajkot for the 3rd encounter of the series. The Saurashtra Cricket Association also has plans to felicitate two superstars of the Indian Test team -- Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravindra Jadeja -- at the venue. While Jadeja is part of the current setup, Pujara was overlooked for a spot in the squad despite his brilliant run in the Ranji Trophy.

Darja Semenistaja Wins Singles Title At Mumbai Open Tennis Championships

Latvia's Darja Semenistaja won the biggest singles title of her career so far after winning the Mumbai Open WTA 125K Series Tennis Championships, which was organized by the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) and the Cricket Club of India (CCI), on Sunday. The 21-year-old from Latvia came from a set down and saved a match point late in the second set before prevailing over fellow southpaw Storm Hunter, of Australia, in a two-and-a-half-hour battle. Semenistaja finally prevailed 5-7, 7-6 (6), 6-2 to win the title and continue her purple patch on Indian soil in 2024. The Latvian won an ITF W50 title in Bengaluru last month and has also claimed two ITF doubles titles in the country before capping her run with the Mumbai title this week.

Sri Lanka Beat Afghanistan By 155 Runs To Secure 2-0 Series Win

Sri Lanka secured a convincing 155 run win over Afghanistan in the second one-day international on Sunday, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three match series. Afghanistan, set a target of 309 to level the series, were shot out for 153 inside 34 overs as leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga starred with four wickets. "We are quite disappointed with the way we performed today," Afghanistan's skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi said. "We are a better side than this." Afghanistan were well placed at 128 for one in pursuit of their target, but once Rahmat Shah (54) and Ibrahim Zadran (63) were dismissed there was little fight from the rest of the batters.

"Why Always Australia...": Internet Reacts To India's U-19 WC Heartbreak

Australia replicated another World Cup final heartbreak for defending champions India following their 79-run victory to lift their fourth Under-19 World Cup title on Sunday. In a span of three months, India twice went unbeaten to the final of the World Cup, to face Australia in the final and on both occasions, they ended up on the losing side. When the fate of the game was decided, the jubilant Australian players stormed onto the field, with skipper Hugh Weibgen making an impression of Michael Vaughan in 2005 after winning the Ashes. While chasing a target of 254, two maiden overs from Australia foreshadowed the chain of events that were about to unfold in the next 43.5 overs.

U19 World Cup Final: Australia Dash Indian Dreams With 79-Run Victory

A fresh chapter was added to the script of Australia's domination over India in the ICC World Cup finals when they bagged the Under-19 title with a 79-run victory on Sunday. Batting by choice, the Aussies posted a healthy 253 for seven as India were forced to mount the highest chase in a youth World Cup summit clash. But Uday Saharan's side floundered in the final step to glory, stumbling to 174 all out as the relentless Aussie bowlers led by the furious Mahli Beardman (3/15) and the crafty off-spinner Raf MacMillan (3/43) did not give them any breathing space. This was Australia's fourth U19 title and first since 2010 and, in a way, they also washed away the pain of losing to India in two title matches in 2012 and 2018.

Ignored For England Test Series, India Star's Cryptic 'Story Not Over' Post Goes Viral

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named the squad for the remaining three Tests of the five-match series against England on Saturday. After the team announcement, India's out-of-favour pacer Umesh Yadav put a cryptic post on his Instagram story and fans wasted no time in relating it to the bowler being overlooked for England Tests. In the changes in the fast bowling line-up, India roped in Akash Deep, giving a maiden Test call-up to the pacer. Meanwhile, Umesh stayed out of consideration. He last played for India in June 2023, which happened to be a Test match vs Australia at The Oval.
