In a noble gesture, the BCCI on Sunday decided to release Rs one crore for the treatment of former India coach Anshuman Gaikwad, who is battling blood cancer at a medical facility in London. BCCI's decision has come following emotional appeals for support from former captain Kapil Dev and Sandip Patil, who had enjoined the cricket board to help Gaikwad.
Following his side's 10 wicket win over Zimbabwe, Indian skipper Shubman Gill expressed happiness at how the team carried out the run-chase without losing a single wicket. Fine half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill helped India secure a series win over Zimbabwe after beating the hosts by 10 wickets in the fourth T20I of the five-match series at Harare on Saturday. India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal revealed that he and captain Shubman Gill were batting with the aim of winning the fourth T20I against Zimbabwe without losing any wickets, focusing on the team's victory rather than thinking about individual scores. Chasing 153, Jaiswal and Gill went hammer and tongs to knock off the target in 15.2 overs, recording only the second instance of India beating Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in a T20I on Saturday. “We were only thinking about finishing the game and make sure that the team wins and we finish without any loss (of a wicket)," Jaiswal told a group of fans after the game in a video shared by the BCCI.
