With former Team India batting Vikram Rathour, who is also reportedly set to join him among the support staff, it has been reported that the franchise's Director of Cricket Operations, Kumar Sangakkara, is looking for an exit. In fact, a report has claimed that Sangakkara has already begun talks with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the mentor's role, hoping to replace Gautam Gambhir, who left the spot vacant to become Team India's head coach.

Days after a video showed former India batter Vinod Kambli struggling to walk due to health issues, a new clip has emerged in which he describes him as "fit and fine". The latest video is reportedly from Kambli's meeting with his school mate Ricky Couto and First Class Umpire Marcus Couto. In the video, Kambli added that he is doing good. The video comes as a big relief for Kambli's well-wishers however NDTV could not independently verify the authenticity of both the videos.
Gautam Gambhir's reign as head coach of Indian cricket team has been off to a brilliant start with the Suryakumar Yadav-led side taking an unassailable 2-0 in a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. Both teams will square off in the series finale on Tuesday, ahead of a three-match ODI rubber, starting August 2. India will be boosted by the presence of their big stars, including captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who both announced their T20I retirements last month. The Indian cricket team found a new coach in the form of Gautam Gambhir after Rahul Dravid's tenure ended, with a triumphant T20 World Cup 2024 campaign. Though Gambhir doesn't have coaching experience with state or Ranji teams, he did very well while mentoring Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders in the last three years. Gambhir, however, didn't have much competition for the Team India head coach job, with only WV Raman competing with him.
