Legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh on Sunday congratulated England pacer Stuart Broad for bringing down curtains on a highly successful international career. Broad on Saturday announced that the ongoing fifth Test match of the Ashes series will be the last match of his international cricket career. Good luck for the next leg Broady!," tweeted Yuvraj.
England pacer Stuart Broad has finally decided to call it a day. The veteran seamer said Saturday he will retire from all cricket following the conclusion of the fifth Ashes Test against Australia at The Oval. Broad's comments came after the end of the third day's play. Broad, who is the fifth most successful bowler in the format with 602 Test wickets, is playing his 167th and final Test, having made his debut in December 2007 against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

As a former fast bowler, he was part of India's victorious squad in the inaugural T20 World Cup held in South Africa in 2007. He still holds the record for the fastest half-century by an Indian batter in ODI, achieved with a 21-ball fifty against Zimbabwe in 2000.

Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer on Friday wrote to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Roger Binny, urging him to allot a few World Cup matches to his state. India is set to play host to ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 later this year. In his letter to the BCCI president, the Punjab minister claimed that there was "no sense of fair play" in the scheduling of matches for the showpiece event.
Former India captain MS Dhoni's decision to bat ahead of an in-form Yuvraj Singh in the 2011 ODI World Cup final against Sri Lanka turned out to be a game-changer.
