Former Indian cricket team all-rounder Yuvraj Singh took to social media to post the first picture of his new-born daughter Aura along with wife Hazel Keech. Yuvraj wrote on Instagram that “sleepless nights have become a lot more joyful” along with a picture that featured him, Hazel and their son Orion. The couple got married back in 2016 and they welcomed their first son in 2022. “Sleepless nights have become a lot more joyful as we welcome our little princess Aura and complete our family,” Yuvraj posted on his Instagram account along with the picture.
Middle-order has been a problem for the Indian team for a long time. After MS Dhoni's retirement, a number of players have been tried in the finisher's role but not many have been able to convince the selectors and team managment. As for the No. 4 spot, since Yuvraj Singh's exit from the team, there remains a big conundrum over the position. For Ravichandran Ashwin, the man who has been able impress in the middle-order since Dhoni and Yuvraj's departures, is KL Rahul.
One of the finest Indian cricketers of his generation, Gautam Gambhir is the man who was at the center of India's triumphs as the 2007 ICC World T20 and the 2011 World Cup finals. Gambhi's contributions were crucial to India's success in the two marquee events. But, there are those who feel his performances, especially in the 2011 World Cup, aren't given the credit they deserve. In an interview, Gambhir said that he has no qualms over his own contributions being ignored as the objective was India winning the World Cup, which the team accomplished.
Former Indian cricket team chief selector Kiran More made a massive statement regarding Rinku Singh as he believes that the star can go on to become a brilliant finisher like MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh. Rinku became an overnight sensation with a brilliant outing in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 where he scored 416 runs at an impressive strike rate of 145.45. At No. 5 and No. 6, he was the most prolific performer and when it comes to the death overs, he was only second to Heinrich Klaasen (187.36) in the entire competition. He was rewarded for his performances with a place in the squad for the T20I series against Ireland and he will also travel to Asian Games as part of the Indian contingent.
On the occasion of 77th Independence Day of India, top sportspersons took to social media to greet the citizens of the country. Gautam Gambhir, Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, and several other notable cricketers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to wish countrymen a happy Independence Day. Former captain Virat Kohli wished everyone a happy Independence Day.
The ODI World Cup 2023 in India is less that two months away but the hosts' team combination is nowhere close to being sorted. Much like the 2019 World Cup, the one slot which is bothering India is the No. 4 slot. No batter has succeeded in settling into the vital number four slot in the Indian ODI team since the retirement of Yuvraj Singh, captain Rohit Sharma said on Thursday, raising serious concerns before the World Cup. With the 50-over World Cup less than two months away, India are struggling to find a batter for the No. 4 slot, something that has also troubled them in the previous edition in 2019 in England.
Yuvraj Singh, one of India's finest match-winners in white-ball cricket, isn't a happy man as the national team stands just 2 months away from the start of the ODI World Cup. WIth the mega event taking place in India, there are high expectations from the hosts to end their ICC trophy drought. But, Yuvraj is seeing too many issues in the Indian team at present, particularly in the middle-order.
