The incident happened on Day 2 of the ongoing Boxing Day Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Friday. Kohli failed to convert a good start as he was dismissed for 36 (86) by Scott Boland. However, as Kohli was walking back to the dressing room, a group of Australian fans at the MCG, who also seemed have passed on some derrogatory remarks towards the star batter.

The 36-year-old had also warned Indian journalist in the past, against clicking pictures of his son and daughter. Following on from a row where Ravindra Jadeja was accused by members of Australian media for not answering questions in English, a similar tone has been maintained for Akash Deep, who was sent to attend the media on Sunday. Akash Deep is not a native English speaker, and hence could not answer questions in English, but Australian media outlet Channel 7 have now suggested that this may've been a "message" from the Indian camp. In fact, the channel stated that Indian reporters had also not helped out Australian reporters with their questions.

"Top-order runs are very important when you play outside India, especially in Australia and South Africa.
