"Wicket Didn't Suit Pace": Josh Hazlewood After RCB's Win vs SRH

Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Josh Hazlewood said that the wicket during the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad, was not suitable for pace bowlers. Faf du Plessis' unbeaten knock of 73 and Wanindu Hasaranga's five-wicket haul helped Royal Challengers Bangalore beat SunRisers Hyderabad by 67 runs at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. "Sweaty again, nice and hot. The wicket probably got drier as the match went on. Being a day game, it deteriorated and we took the pace off. Our spinners bowled really well, we worked to a plan and achieved it. It (knuckle ball) is tough in these conditions with how sweaty everything is and when the dew comes in at night. It's a tough skill but seems to be coming out okay. Tonight's wicket didn't suit pace on," said Hazlewood in a post-match presentation.

It was a much needed confidence-booster fifty for Kohli, says Gavaskar

Sunil Gavaskar said on Saturday that Virat Kohli's half-century against Gujarat Titans in the IPL game on Saturday will work as a much-needed confidence booster for the batter as well as his team Royal Challengers Bangalore. Several former cricketers, including ex-India coach Ravi Shastri, have suggested Kohli should take a break from the game, but in the match against Gujarat Titans, the former RCB captain showed signs of returning to form. Kohli, after enduring a series of failures (0, 0, 9 in his previous three innings), finally scored a half-century and Gavaskar said the fifty came at the right time for him and it will work as a confidence booster for the beleaguered batter.

IPL 2022, GT vs RCB: David Miller, Rahul Tewatia guide Gujarat Titans home against Royal Challengers Bangalore

Rahul Tewatia (43*) and David Miller (39*) are consistently making their mark as two of the most reliable finishers in this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Against Chennai Super Kings, it was Miller’s unbeaten 94 along with Rashid Khan’s innings that took the Gujarat Titans to victory in the last over. On Saturday, against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium, the duo’s 79-run partnership in 40 balls again bailed out the Titans from a mid-match collapse to register a six-wicket triumph. Their finishing overshadowed former Indian captain Virat Kohli’s return to form with a half-century.
