Shreyas Iyer stunned both experts and fans as he took a blinder to dismiss Usman Khawaja during Day 2 of the second Test match between India and Australia on Saturday. It was a straightish delivery from Ravindra Jadeja and Khawaja made up his mind early to paddle sweep it towards fine leg. However, Shreyas, who was fielding at leg gully, moved swiftly towards his left and pulled off a stunning catch to make sure that the Australia opener was not able to repeat his first innings heroics. Incidentally, Shreyas was dismissed during India's first innings due to a brilliant catch from Peter Handscomb.

Virat Kohli Failed To convert a good start into something big as he was dismissed in controversial fashion by the debutant Matthew Kuhnemann on Day 2 of the second Test between India and Australia in New Delhi. Batting on 44, Kohli looked quite comfortable at the crease and when a delivery from the spinner crashed into his pads, he confidently went for the review despite the umpire raising his finger. The replays were inconclusive as it was difficult to figure out whether the ball connected with the bat or the pads. However, the third umpire decided to stick to the on-field umpire's decision. Once he was back in the dressing room, Kohli was seen watching the replays on the screen and along with the coaches, he was also quite unimpressed. However, there was no outburst of emotion from the right-hander.

Despite bowling out Australia for 263 on Day 1 of the second Test, Team India failed to stamp its authority as Usman Khawaja (81) and Peter Handscomb (72*) managed to rescue the visitors in Delhi. However, India, who took a 1-0 in the series after beating Australia in the series-opener in Nagpur, head into Day 2, slightly ahead in the contest. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets to his name, while spin wizards Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin scalped six wickets apiece.

Spinners are always expected to dominate in India but the most successful bowler on the opening day of the second Test against Australia, Mohammed Shami, believes the home conditions also offer enough help to the pacers. Shami ended with a four-wicket haul to help India limit Australia to 263. Spinners Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin picked up three wickets each. At the start of the innings, Shami relentlessly targetted the good length area that helped him get rid of David Warner.

The first day of the second Test here at the Ferozeshah Kotla wasn’t much different except that Khawaja’s 81 and Handscomb’s unbeaten 72 perhaps made the Indian attack toil harder than they have at home since the defeat against England in Chennai two years ago. Yet, the Australians, perennially spooked by the look of Indian pitches, could muster 263 in 78.4 overs on a slow track after winning the toss.
