Sanju Samson Registers Embarrassing Record After Two Consecutive T20I Tons
Sanju Samson registered an embarrassing record after the Indian cricket team opener was dismissed for a three-ball duck during the second T20I encounter against South Africa in Gqeberha on Sunday. Samson was high on confidence ahead of the match as he became the first Indian ever to score two consecutive centuries in T20Is. However, his stay at the crease was quite short on Sunday as he was clean-bowled by Marco Jansen. This was Samson's fourth duck in T20Is in 2024 - the most by any Indian batter in a calendar year. Yusuf Pathan, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli all had 3 in a single year.

Apart from one century against Zimbabwe on his second-ever T20I, Abhishek has failed to get going. In fact, the 24-year-old has not crossed the 20-run mark in eight of his nine T20I innings. Fans on social media pointed out Abhishek's inconsistency, and went on to question whether he deserved his spot in the India XI over other players like Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Suryakumar engaged in an intense debate with South Africa all-rounder Marco Jansen after the latter expressed his displeasure over Samson's act of stepping onto the pitch time and again. Heinrich Klaasen became the highest-ever retention in Indian Premier League (IPL) history as IPL 2024 runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad announced their list of the retained players ahead of the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction. Captain Pat Cummins was also retained, alongside Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy and Travis Head. The auctions are reportedly to be held at the end of November in Saudi Arabia. As per BCCI's rule, all the ten franchises were asked to submit the final list of their retained players by Thursday, October 31. Playing under the captaincy of Australia pacer Pat Cummins, SRH finished as the first runners-up after losing to Kolkata Knight Riders in the final.

JOHANNESBURG : The fast-bowling duo of Gerald Coetzee and Marco Jansen were both included in South Africa’s 16-man squad for the four-match T20 series against India, scheduled for Nov. 8-15, Cricket South Africa announced on Thursday.
