BENGALURU : Royal Challengers Bengaluru made a late swoop to re-sign their former seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 107.5 million Indian rupees ($1.28 million) on the second day of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in Saudi Arabia on Monday.
As nearly 500 players await their fate on Day 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction, some more twists and surprises are expected to be witnessed. The auction saw some big names like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh, etc. earn their deserved value while Venkatsh Iyer produced a big surprise as he was bought for Rs. 23.75 crore by Kolkata Knight Riders. Though not in the same category, some other players are also likely to turn heads when their names come on the auction table.
PBKS Full Squad, IPL 2025: Punjab Kings entered the IPL 2025 mega auction with by far the highest budget of Rs 110.5 crore, and went to business immediately. PBKS spent a fortune of Rs 18 crore each on Indian bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal, but undoubtedly their headline signing was that of Indian batter Shreyas Iyer for Rs 26.75 cr, making him the second-most expensive player in IPL history. PBKS also packed their squad with a number of Indian and overseas all-rounders, getting the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Nehal Wadhera and Harpreet Brar. (Full Squad)

Having bought only four players on Day 1, MI are expected to go big for many remaining stars, such as the likes of Marco Jansen and Washington Sundar. Mumbai Indians still have a couple of batters to add to their potential starting XI, and can still buy as many as seven overseas players. Their biggest buy on Day 1 of the auction was New Zealand pacer Trent Boult, who returned to blue for Rs 12.5 crore.
