There is still a lot of cricket to be played in the third Test between the Proteas and Australia in Sydney, but after two rain-affected days, there is only one side in the contest.
"It has been a really tough tour, to say the least."
India's Suryakumar Yadav will enter the T20 World Cup as the second best batter in the format following an update of the ICC Men's Player Rankings issued on Wednesday. Pakistan opener Mohammad Rizwan (861 rating points) has extended his lead at the top of the T20I batter rankings after yet another consistent showing during the tri-series in New Zealand, while Suryakumar (838) is still second ahead of the blockbuster clash between the two neighbours at the MCG on Sunday. KL Rahul (13), Virat Kohli (15) and skipper Rohit Sharma (16) are all static in the latest update.
Proteas skipper Temba Bavuma continues to recover from a mild infection and is expected to feature in Wednesday's final T20 World Cup warm-up match against Bangladesh in Brisbane.

India and South Africa will square off in the third and final ODI at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. After a defeat in the first ODI against South Africa, the Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian cricket team bounced back in style in the second ODI. Shreyas Iyer scored a 111-ball 113 while No. 3 batter Ishan Kishan hit a fluent 84-ball 93 as India chased down 279-run target in just 45.5 overs. After the win, opener Shubman Gill greeted Ishan in a unique way, just like in the Hrithik Roshan-starrer movie Vikram Vedha. Gill also posted a video of the same along with the caption: "Well played my Shatak #vikramvedha."
