Barcelona president Joan Laporta had to be asked to leave the match officials' dressing room after demanding an explanation for certain decisions in his side's defeat to Real Madrid on Sunday.
Barcelona gagal memenuhi ekspektasi usai tersendat di Liga Champions. Presiden Barcelona Joan Laporta sepenuhnya mendukung pelatih Xavi Hernandez.
BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — With its Champions League hopes all but dashed, Barcelona knows that the Spanish league title has become a must-win to justify the club’s massive financial gamble.
Ada kabar tak enak dari Barcelona. Para pemain disebut marah dengan sikap Presiden Joan Laporta.
Barcelona chief Joan Laporta has rubbished reports that the club asked Frenkie de Jong to take a pay cut amid their financial woes.
Atletico Madrid confirmed they have agreed a deal to sign French striker Antoine Griezmann permanently from Barcelona, on a contract until 2026. Griezmann has been on loan at Atletico since August 2021 after a difficult spell at Camp Nou, following his 120 million euro (116.5 million dollar) move in 2019. "Griezmann has signed a deal that links him to our club until June 30, 2026," said Atletico in a statement on Monday. The 2018 World Cup winner was a key figure in coach Diego Simeone's plans last season but has largely been reduced to substitute appearances in the current campaign as Atletico tried to escape paying a reported obligatory 40 million euro purchase fee if he played over a certain number of games.
Barcelona earn an agonising 1-0 win over Celta Vigo to move back top of La Liga on Sunday. After Real Madrid beat Getafe, Barcelona knew they had to beat the Galicians to head into next Sunday's Clasico as league leaders, but Celta did not make it easy for them. With Barcelona clutching a narrow advantage, the visitors came close to an equaliser at Camp Nou and Marc-Andre ter Stegen earned a sixth consecutive domestic clean sheet with a brilliant save from Iago Aspas late on. Goncalo Paciencia hit the post in stoppage time with the Catalans on the ropes, begging for the whistle. "We had a great second half, with four, or five, or six clear chances, but if you don't score at Camp Nou then it's normal that you lose," Aspas told DAZN. "They ended up wasting time on throw-ins."
