The post has got more than 10,000 likes and over 500 retweets on the microblogging site, with several users consoling him and assuring him that he will one day get his chance in the national team.

Young opening batter Prithvi Shaw did not find a place in the Indian squad for the upcoming two-match T20I series against Ireland. The BCCI on Wednesday named a 17-man squad for the two T20Is, which be played on June 26 and June 28 in Malahide. Hardik Pandya, who led Gujarat Titans to the IPL 2022 title last month, will captain India for the first time, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar was named vice-captain. While Rahul Tripathi also earned his maiden India call-up, there was no place for Shaw in the squad. Fans took to Twitter and sympathised with the young batter, who last played for India during the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka in July 2021.

Rahul Tripathi termed his maiden India call-up, a result of his enormous hardwork put in over the years. The 31-year-old right-hand batter Tripathi has been one of the most consistent uncapped IPL player over six seasons with 2022 edition being his best as he totalled 413 runs at a strike-rate of 158.24 for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Tripathi, a son of an Army man, has been consistently performing in the IPL and also for his domestic side Maharashtra.

The only new face in the side is Maharashtra right-hand batter Rahul Tripathi, who was rewarded for his stellar batting during this edition of IPL where he scored more than 400 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
