There are meetings taking place in the big smoke but who will emerge from them with the title of Rangers manager?
Plenty of people will be buzzing at seeing the back of Michael Beale. I must say, I’m not one of them. Not because I think he’s been binned too soon. I knew he had to go myself on Saturday night as I slumped into my seat after watching another woeful performance in the defeat against Aberdeen.
Michael Beale was never the real deal as Rangers manager. The Bromley boy could talk the talk but couldn’t walk the walk. The fact the Rangers board saw him as the natural successor to Giovanni van Bronckhorst was alarming. He was a very lucky man, yet, if you listen to Beale you would think he was up there with Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho. His results and performances certainly didn’t stand up to his claims. Also, when Ross Wilson departed he told everyone he didn’t need a sporting director. He could do the recruitment himself.
