Australian internationals Cameron Bancroft and Daniel Sams were taken to hospital after colliding with each other during their side Sydney Thunder's Big Bash League match with Perth Scorchers on Friday.
A nasty collision between Australian cricketers Daniel Sams and Cameron Bancroft took place during Sydney Thunder's Big Bash League (BBL) match against Perth Scorchers at Optus Stadium in Perth on Friday. The collision was so severe that both the players had to be hospitalised. While one of them went off the ground suffering a bleeding nose, the other one was stretchered off after losing his consciousness. The incident took place in the 16th over of the Scorchers' innings. Cooper Connolly mistimed a fuller ball around the mid-wicket region and that is where Sams and Bancroft ran to take the catch. While both of them converged for the catch, they failed to notice each other and this led to a severe collision.
West Indies all-rounder Kyle Mayers reached Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) team hotel on Saturday, March 16. Mayers arrived in Lucknow along with his wife and son, and the trio received a grand welcome from the LSG management. Mayers wearing a black t-shirt, an olive trouser and a black sunglass, with tons of gold jewellery on his neck. Taking to social media, LSG uploaded a video of Mayers arrival.
Australia batter David Warner, fresh from his retirement from Test cricket, returned to action in the Big Bash League (BBL) on Friday for the Sydney Smash between Thunder and Sixers. Warner arrived at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in a helicopter, having played his last Test at the same venue earlier this month. Warner's Australia teammate Steve Smith was in the dugout for the Sixers, who had won the last four meeting between the two sides prior to Friday's game at the SCG. As the Sixers were asked to bat first by the Thunder, the former Australia captain had an interesting little exchange with each other.
Amid rumours of his possible departure from the franchise, KL Rahul was retained by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction next month. LSG had traded Rahul from Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2022, and later named him as the captain of the team ahead of their maiden season in the franchise-based league. Under Rahul, LSG have qualified for the IPL play-offs in the last two seasons. Rahul. however, picked up an injury mid-way through the last season before making his return to action during the Asia Cup earlier this year.

New Zealand's Matt Henry and Ish Sodhi took seven wickets between them as Somerset beat Essex by 14 runs to win English cricket's Twenty20 Blast final at Edgbaston on Saturday. With southwest side Somerset defending a relatively modest total of 145, paceman Henry led the attack with 4-24 from 3.3 overs, while leg-spinner Sodhi took 3-22 from his maximum four overs as Essex were dismissed for 131 with nine balls to spare. Adam Rossington and Dan Lawrence made a rapid start to Essex's pursuit of a target of 146 only for Henry to dismiss both batsmen before bowling Michael Pepper with an excellent delivery.
Somerset were crowned T20 Blast champions for the second time on Finals Day after beating Essex by 14 runs in a thrilling final at Edgbaston. Their first title in 18 years was clinched in style with a superb one-handed catch from Tom Kohler-Cadmore, leaving Essex 131 all out and falling short in their chase of 145.
