Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Rajat Patidar on Wednesday became the first uncapped player in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL) to smash a century in the playoffs. The batter achieved this feat during his side's Eliminator clash against Lucknow Super Giants here at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. It was a memorable day at the field for Patidar as he smashed an unbeaten 112 off just 54 to guide his side to a massive total of 207/4 at the end of their 20 overs.

De Villiers, who quit all forms of cricket a few months back and did not participate in IPL 2022 in which RCB will play their Eliminator match on Wednesday, said he was not yet sure in what capacity he will return. "I will definitely be around the IPL next year. I would love to return to my second hometown," de Villiers told VUSport. "I will be around RCB next year, I am missing it, don't know in which capacity but I would like to visit my second home which is Chinnaswamy stadium -- I am looking forward to it," said de Villiers, who was included in RCB Hall of Fame a few days back along with West Indies' Chris Gayle.

He stayed unbeaten on 140 (70b, 10x6s, 10x4s) as LSG scored a massive 210/0 in 20 overs. His fellow opener and LSG captain KL Rahul stayed unbeaten on 68* (51b, 4x6s, 3x4s). When they crossed the score of 185 together, the duo's stand became the highest-ever by openers in the history of the IPL. This is also the highest-ever stand for any wicket against KKR.
