Lando Norris has put pen to paper on a new deal that will see him become the third-highest-paid driver in the paddock.
The 2022 F1 calendar will be the largest ever with 23 grand prix, starting on 20 March in Bahrain and finishing exactly eight months later on 20 November in Abu Dhabi.
Ferrari ace Carlos Sainz has said that he is hoping to sign a new contract with the team and that he is feeling optimistic about his and the Scuderia’s chances ahead of the 2022 Formula 1 season.
The news reflects the fact that F1 is taking advantage of the surge in popularity of the sport fuelled by an exciting 2021 season and by the popular Netflix Drive to Survive series to secure extended deals with its existing race promoters.
Lando Norris is having himself a busy week but fortunately, he is going to be able to pay the bills with his new contract with McLaren reportedly set to land him £10.5m a year over the next four years until the end of 2025.
