Sri Lanka vs Netherlands LIVE Updates, T20 World Cup 2024: Netherlands may be out of the 2024 T20 World Cup even before their match against Sri Lanka ends, if Bangladesh beat Nepal. However, the Dutch need to beat Sri Lanka by a healthy scoreline to keep any hopes of qualifying to the Super 8 stage alive. The game also offers Sri Lanka a chance to get their first win, in what has been a hugely disappointing tournament for the 2014 champions. They would likely finish bottom of their group if they fail to win. (Live Scorecard | Points Table)
Bangladesh vs Netherlands, T20 World Cup 2024, LIVE Updates: Bangladesh star Tanzid Hassan narrowly missed eye injury after a delivery by Vivian Kingma got stuck in his helmet. Bangladesh are currently four down. After rain delayed the toss, Bangladesh have been sent to bat by Netherlands in a T20 World Cup game at the Arnos Vale Ground in St. Vincent. Both the teams would be aiming to put one foot into the 2024 T20 World Cup Super Eight. Both sides have lost to South Africa, but Bangladesh enter the match as favourites, having beaten Sri Lanka. Netherlands vs Nepal T20 World Cup 2024 Live Streaming And Live Telecast: Netherlands face Nepal in their first match of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. This is an important Group D match - a group which also consists of Sri Lanka, South Africa and Bangladesh. Earlier, Sri Lanka were defeated comprehensively by South Africa in the first match of Group D. Netherlands will be led by Scott Edwards while Rohit Paudel will be leading the Nepal cricket team.
Former ICC Men's T20 World Cup champions Sri Lanka find themselves in Group D alongside South Africa, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Nepal for the upcoming tournament. This group promises thrilling matches with rivals Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, South Africa and Netherlands pitted against one another. While Nepal gears up for their second appearance in the marquee event, the group boasts no clear-cut favourite with history bearing witness that each team carries the potential to beat the other. Let's run through the teams in this group and what we can expect from them.
Experienced Scott Edwards was on Monday named as the captain of the Netherlands for next month's T20 World Cup, the Royal Dutch Cricket Association announced. The 27-year-old Edwards was elected the skipper despite his modest outings in the recent tri-series, involving hosts Nepal and Namibia. Overall, he has played 56 T20I for the Netherlands, scoring 671 runs at a strike-rate of 122. Indian-origin cricketers – Teja Nidamanuru, Vikram Singh and Aryan Dutt – are also part of the squad.
It is difficult to tell, given his face seems to be almost permanently cracking with laughter lines. But Bas de Leede, the amiable allrounder from the Netherlands, does not appear to have any lasting scarring from the horrific blow he was struck by Haris Rauf back in 2022.
Fighting in the field of cricket is nothing new. Players often engage in verbal battles. While some end on the spot, some become really serious and end up with physical altercations. The latter one was witnessed during a cricket match where two batters of the same team got engaged in a fight and ended up hammering each other with bats. A miscommunication between the batters led to a run-out after which both of them had a war of words. The verbal fight transformed into a physical battle in no time.
