The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Wednesday announced a 16-member squad for the three-match ODI series against West Indies, which begins on July 22. Rohit Sharma and senior players like Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested for the 50-over format. Veteran opening batter Shikhar Dhawan will lead the team and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been named as the vice-captain.
Shikhar Dhawan was on Wednesday named India captain for the three-match ODI series against the West Indies, beginning on July 22 in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Regular skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant have been rested for the series.

Rohit Sharma had tested positive for COVID-19 during India's tour game against Leicestershire. Meanwhile, young pacer Arshdeep Singh also received his maiden ODI call-up. Arshdeep was part of India's squad for the two-match T20I series against Ireland, but failed to find a place in the playing XI in both games.
