Sebastian Vettel said he hopes Formula One race director Michael Masi keeps his job after the Australian made a controversial safety car call in the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that denied Lewis Hamilton an unprecedented eighth title.
Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel believes Michael Masi should remain in his role as Formula One race director despite his controversial call that effectively decided the 2021 world title. Masi's position is under intense scrutiny after he was accused of bending the rules to allow Max Verstappen the chance to beat Lewis Hamilton to the title following a late safety car period in last season's finale in Abu Dhabi. But Vettel, a director of the Grand Prix Drivers' Association, has thrown his weight behind the under-fire Australian. "For Michael, it has been a pity," said Vettel, speaking at the launch of Aston Martin's car for the 2022 season.
Desde Aston Martin han querido aprovechar este día para presentar el que será su nuevo monoplaza de cara a la próxima temporada de la Fórmula 1. Concretamente, son los terceros en presentar sus coches después de que lo hiciesen en Haas y Red Bull.
