CSK vs KKR, IPL 2022, Live Updates: Chennai Super Kings find themselves in a spot of bother in the ongoing IPL 2022 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. CSK are four wickets down after being put on to bat first by KKR captain Shreyas Iyer. Varun Chakravarthy got the better of Robin Uthappa, after Umesh Yadav had dismissed both the CSK openers in the powerplay. Uthappa was looking lively before Chakaravarthy halted his progress. Earlier, KKR had won the toss and elected to bowl against CSK. KKR named three overseas players -- Sam Billings, Andre Russell and Sunil Narine -- in their playing XI while CSK pick four overseas players -- Devon Conway, Mitchell Santner, Dwayne Bravo, and Adam Milne. Ahead of the toss, KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer received his debut cap, alongside fellow newcomers Ajinkya Rahane and Billings. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja will lead CSK this season after MS Dhoni stepped down from his role earlier this week. Both teams had met in the IPL final last season, with CSK running out victorious in the UAE. (LIVE SCORECARD)
CSK vs KKR, IPL 2022, Live Updates: Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the season opener of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Last season, CSK defeated KKR in the final in the UAE, and lifted their fourth IPL title. Both teams will be under leadership this season. MS Dhoni stepped down as captain of CSK on Thursday, and Ravindra Jadeja will fill in for him this season. Meanhile, KKR did not retain their skipper Eoin Morgan, and signed Shreyas Iyer at the mega auction last month. Both teams will miss several players initially due to international commitments. It will be interesting to see which team will take the bragging rights ahead of a long and tiring season. (LIVE SCORECARD)

Indian Premier League (IPL) champions. Since then, a mega-auction has happened, both Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders have acquired a new look with their cores intact. And now they are back in the cauldron of Wankhede to kickstart a new season. The CSK-KKR rivalry isn’t exactly top billing, with the Chennai team generally having the better of the exchanges, including the last final. But KKR have had an X-factor over the years that always makes them an uncomfortable team to play first up. Probably, CSK’s bitterest-ever defeat in IPL came in the 2012 final at Chepauk against KKR when Manvinder Bisla played a blinder. Since then, CSK have always been cautious going into this fixture, more so due to the presence of the likes of West Indians Andre Russell and Sunil Narine. These two players have bothered the four-time champions time and again and CSK will try to ensure that the duo does not get going on Saturday.
DUBAI: Asia’s Arab teams were in action in the penultimate round of World Cup qualifiers on Thursday and, while Saudi Arabia secured qualification in Group B, results in Group A were mixed in the hunt for that vital third-place play-off spot, and the right to meet Australia.
