Former West Ham and Newcastle goalkeeper Shaka Hislop is conscious after he collapsed before Sunday's friendly between Real Madrid and AC Milan. Hislop, who made 26 appearances for Trinidad and Tobago, was working as a pundit for ESPN in California when he fell to the ground during a pitchside interview at the Rose Bowl. ESPN colleague Dan Thomas immediately called for help before he was later able to provide a positive update on London-born Hislop.
Former West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop sparked a health scare after collapsing on air ahead of Sunday's friendly match between Real Madrid and AC Milan in California. Hislop, 54, who was working as an analyst for US broadcaster ESPN at the game, stumbled and fell to the ground during a pre-match interview at the Rose Bowl. Fellow broadcaster Dan Thomas rushed to assist the former Trinidad and Tobago international as ESPN abruptly cut off for a commercial break.

In response, on a Queen’s Park Oval pitch offering little assistance for the bowlers, the home side were well placed at 86 for one in reply at the close. A repeat of the swift demolition West Indies suffered in the first Test in Dominica a week earlier seemed unlikely.
