The top-seeded men's team comprising GMs D Gukesh and R Praggnanandhaa, Arjun Erigaisi and P Harikrishna beat Kazakhstan 3-1. The women's side, which is seeded second here, crushed Indonesia 3.5-0.5 for a third straight win. The India No.1 D Gukesh scored his first win of the event, beating GM Rinat Jumabayev.

Later in the day, Dipika and Sandhu needed a mere 11 minutes to thwart the challenge from the Pakistani pair of Mehwish Ali and Noor Zaman, blanking them 11-4, 11-1 to romp home to a 2-0 win.

Parveen, who won the bronze medal in the 63kg at the 2022 World Boxing Championships, moved past Uzbekistan's Sitora Turdibekova by unanimous verdict in the quarterfinal. Soniya Devi had finished fourth in women's kayak single 500m (sprint) heat 2 with a timing of 2:17.351 in the morning session, qualifying for the semifinals which took place later in the day. In the semifinal round, the Indian came up with a far better show to finish second and reach the final with a timing of 2:16.435, behind Uzbekistan's Madinakhon Ashrafxonova (2.11:352) at the first spot, followed by Thailand's Khanyakron Suphawatthanakon (2.18:260).
