The BCCI, after not receiving clearance from the Indian government, has informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) that it will not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy in 2025. The Pakistan Cricket Board, the designated host, is adamant that there will be no hybrid model where India play its matches at a neutral venue. Arch-rivals India and Pakistan have been drawn together for the inaugural Women's U19 Asia Cup, the Asian Cricket Council announced on Wednesday. The six-team tournament will take place in Malaysia, consisting of two groups of three teams each. Group A comprises India, Pakistan and Nepal, while Group B includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and hosts Malaysia. All matches would be held at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur.

Uttar Pradesh middle-order batter Mohammad Amaan will lead India in the 50-over ACC Under-19 Asia Cup, which will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) later this month. India will open their campaign against Pakistan at Dubai on November 30. The ICC continued discussions on the Champions Trophy schedule with the participating nations amid speculation that the entire tournament could be moved out of Pakistan following India's refusal to travel to the country, a source said on Tuesday. A chatter emerged that South Africa could be a viable alternative to organise next year's Champions Trophy but PTI understands that no such discussion happened in the International Cricket Council on Tuesday. Meanwhile, it was not a surprise that ICC has also put on hold the prestigious ODI tournament's launch event, which was scheduled to be held in Lahore on November 11.

Former wicket-keeper batter Rashid Malik says if had the power he would not let Pakistan play against India in any tournament and also suggested that ICC should not grant the hosting rights of global events to both countries until they resolve their issues. The BCCI has refused to send its team to Pakistan for the upcoming Champions Trophy and there speculation that the entire tournament could be moved out of the country. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has written to the International Cricket Council (ICC) asking for a written confirmation from the BCCI for India's inability to travel to Pakistan for the tournament.
