Sri Lanka cricket team all-rounder Kamindu Mendis became the first cricketer ever in the history of Test cricket to score two centuries in the same match while batting at No. 7 or below. Mendis achieved the feat on Day 3 of the first Test match against Bangladesh in Sylhet. Mendis scored 102 in the first innings and he followed it up with an impressive 164 in the second innings. Dhananjaya de Silva also scored centuries in both innings of the match and the pair also become the third in the history of the game to achieve the feat after Greg Chappel-Ian Chappel (Australia) and Misbah-ul-Haq-Azhar Ali (Pakistan).

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is optimistic that it will be able to host Champions Trophy next year as a delegation of the International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to reach the country on Monday to inspect the ongoing preparations for the prestigious tournament. The delegation which will also include a security expert will visit all the proposed venues with particular emphasis on Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi.
