"Don't Waste Time In Pakistan": Harbhajan Singh's Coaching 'Offer' For Gary Kirsten After Alleged Outburst

If the early T20 World Cup exit was not enough, the Pakistan cricket team has been dealt some bigger blows with a viral remark by its coach Gary Kirsten going viral. According to media reports in Pakistan and by news agency PTI, Kirsten, who guided India to ODI World Cup triumph in 2011, pulled no punches in his assessment of the team after being eliminated from the ongoing T20 showpiece. "There's no unity in Pakistan's team. They call it a team, but it isn't a team. They aren't supporting each other; everyone is separated, left and right. I've worked with many teams, but I've never seen such a situation," Kirsten said as per reports quoting a senior scribe.

Babar Azam's 'Major Dip' At ICC Events Linked To This Big Cause By Pakistan Great

Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez has questioned star batter Babar Azam for failing to step up his game during ICC events. Hafeez's remark comes after Babar failed to help Pakistan qualify for the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup. While Babar did saw Pakistan home in their final group match against Ireland, fans and experts questioned his approach during the match. Chasing 107 to win, Pakistan kept losing wickets at the other end. However, Babar hit a cautious 32 not out off 34 balls to rescue some pride for Pakistan.

On Gary Kirsten Blasting Babar Azam And Co. For No Unity Ex Pakistan President Talks About 'FIR'. Then Says...

Gary Kirsten, a former South African star batter and current Pakistan cricket team coach, made headlines on Monday. The reason: an alleged comment by the former India coach on the lack of unity in the team, led by Babar Azam. Kirsten, who won the 2011 World Cup as India coach, was appointed as the Pakistan coach a few weeks ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. However, Pakistan's performance was not at all good. The 2022 T20 World Cup runners-up were eliminated from the group stage.

Forget Captaincy, Babar Azam 'Doesn't Deserve Place" In Pakistan Team: Virender Sehwag After T20 WC Debacle

When Pakistan entered the T20 World Cup 2024, the signs were already there. Unimpressive displays against Ireland and England in two successive T20I series meant that Pakistan's form going into the T20 World Cup was not ideal. Still Pakistan often have the habit of springing a surprise when they are least expected to - like at the 2027 Champions Trophy or the 2022 T20 World cup. This time, however, it was different. Pakistan were stunned in their first match by debutants USA and then lost to India despite being in a comfortable position.
