England Star Mark Wood Told To "Stop Picking His Kids". This Is The Reason

England fast bowler Mark Wood has been instructed to refrain from using his right arm for even the simplest tasks, including picking up his children, as he grapples with a bone stress injury in his right elbow. The injury has sidelined the 34-year-old for the remainder of 2024, with Wood targeting a return early next year. “I have been told to stop picking my kids up with my right arm. I have to do everything with my left,” Wood revealed in an interview with BBC's Test Match Special.

Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi was on Tuesday recalled as the Pakistan selectors named a 15-member squad for the first Test against England beginning on October 7. Afridi, who was dropped for the second and final Test against Bangladesh earlier this month due to poor form, was back in the squad for the first Test in Multan. Seasoned left-arm spinner Noman Ali, who was not considered for the two Tests against Bangladesh, was also named in the squad. Bangladesh had won both the Tests in a big upset. Ali replaced pace bowler Khurrum Shehzad who is yet to recover from a injury he sustained during the home series against Bangladesh.

Pakistan's Shan Masood is likely to be retained captain for the upcoming home Test series against England, while Babar Azam is also assured of keeping his white-ball captaincy when the team flies to Australia and South Africa later this year. "We Were All Worried In Pakistan": Wasim Akram Doffs Hat To Rishabh Pant

Comeback man Rishabh Pant marked his return to Test cricket in style, scoring a century in the second innings of the series opener against Bangladesh. Pant's heroic turn left many emotional, as fans, pundits and his peers recalled the horrific car crash he was a part of in December 2022. Around 600 days from that accident, Pant is seemingly back to his best, especially in red-ball cricket. As fans and former cricketers recalled the wicket-keeper batter's journey, even Pakistan great Wasim Akram shared an emotional note.
