Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that the selection committee "will review" the national squad picked for the Champions Trophy even as he defended the controversial selections of batter Khushdil Shah and all-rounder Faheem Ashraf. The PCB top boss statement was in complete contradiction to skipper Mohammed Rizwan's assertion that no change is warranted in the 15-member squad. Every cricket board has time till February 12 to make any changes to their provisional squads picked for the ICC event which will be held in Pakistan and United Arab Emirates. “The selectors have the right to review any squad they announce. Khushdil Shah and Faheem Ashraf have been included in the squad with the right intentions,” he replied to a question.
Pakistan vs New Zealand Live Streaming Tri Series: With the Champions Trophy looming large, Pakistan host New Zealand and South Africa in a four-match tri-nation series, starting February 8. The hosts play the Kiwis in the opening match of the series at the newly-renovated Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. After struggling to get going in the recently-concluded five-match T20I series, young England all-rounder Jacob Bethell gave a good account of himself in the ODI-opener against India in Nagpur. The 21-year-old hit a half-century on Thursday, and also grabbed the prized scalp of Shreyas Iyer. Bethell will be heading to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy later this month, before returning to India in March to get his first taste of the Indian Premier League. The Champions Trophy 2025 will be a tightly-fought tournament, with only eight sides in the whole competition and groups of four teams each. It will be the first time that Pakistan host a major ICC tournament in nearly three decades, with the last occasion coming during the 1996 World Cup. Pakistan opened a renovated stadium for the Champions Trophy in Lahore on Friday, one of three to be used in its first major international cricket event in almost 30 years. The eight-team Champions Trophy will be staged from February 19 to March 9 in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi, although arch-rival India's matches will be staged in the United Arab Emirates after they refused to play in Pakistan. Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium was reopened after a 117-day renovation during which LED floodlights, larger score screens, new hospitality boxes and upgraded seating were installed.

However, Akhtar added that the next year saw a huge transformation in him as he could not only walk comfortably but also started running. It is worth noting that the ex-Pakistan speedster still holds the record of bowling the fastest delivery in cricket history. He had bowled 161.3 km/h (100.2 mph) during Pakistan's 2003 Cricket World Cup match in Cape Town.
