"Utter Rubbish": Ex-Pakistan Captain Shuts Down IPL Commentator For Virat Kohli Criticism

Virat Kohli slammed his 46th half-century in the Indian Premier League on Monday against the Lucknow Super Giants. The former RCB captain reached the 50-run mark in 35 balls, registering his second fifty of the season. However, it took Kohli 10 balls to move from 42 to 50 and his batting approach did not go down well with former New Zealand player Simon Doull, who was commentating the match. Doull felt that Kohli was "concerned about the milestone".

Pakistan Would Like To Play Most Of Its World Cup Games In Two Indian Cities, Says Report. It's Kolkata And...

The Pakistan cricket team would prefer playing bulk of its 2023 ODI World Cup matches in Chennai and Kolkata -- the two venues where the team has felt safe during its earlier tours, according to ICC sources. The World Cup will start tentatively on October 5, with 46 matches, including final set to be played across 12 Indian cities, including Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mumbai, Rajkot, Bengaluru, Delhi, Indore, Mohali, Guwahati and Hyderabad. It is understood that discussions are currently on at the ICC level as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) bigwigs are in talks with a top level ICC executive on the issue, which still remains a sensitive one.

IPL 2023 - "In 43 Years...": Praising Rinku Singh, KKR Coach Chandrakant Pandit Draws Parallels With Ravi Shastri, Javed Miandad

With 7-down Kolkata Knight Riders needing 29 runs off the last over, it was unlikely for most to hope that the side would give a fight to their opponents Gujarat Titans. While Rashid Khan's magical hat-trick had almost sealed the game for the Hardik Pandya-led GT, winning seemed to be just a formality for the side. Yash Dayal was handed the ball in the final over and the first delivery went for a single. With 28 needed off 5 balls, GT would have thought that the game was in their pocket, however, KKR's Rinku Singh had some other idea. Rinku hit five consecutive sixes and sealed a nearly impossible victory for Nitish Rana and company.

Pakistan Could Lose USD 3 Million If It Skips Asia Cup: Najam Sethi, Cricket Board Chief

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi has said that it stands to lose around USD 3 million in revenues from the tournament if the country refuses to play in the Asia Cup this year. Sethi said that Pakistan was willing to bear this loss of revenue as it was "a matter of principle" as far as the hosting rights of the Asia Cup are concerned. "We have made it very clear that unless the Asia Cup is held on a hybrid model like we have proposed, that is India playing its matches at an offshore venue and Pakistan hosting the remaining games at home we will not accept any other schedule and neither play," he said.

Shahid Afridi-Led Panel Wanted Babar Azam "To Be Replaced As Captain": Najam Sethi

The chairman of PCB management committee, Najam Sethi, has revealed that Shahid Afridi-led interim selection panel initially wanted to replace Babar Azam as captain. However, he added that as soon as the panel members took their role, they changed their mind. PCB went through a series of changes in December last year. It included the sacking of the then chairman Ramiz Raja from his role with Najam Sethi taking over the duties later. Meanwhile, the PCB also appointed Shahid Afridi as the chaiman of the National Selection Committee for the home series against New Zealand.

On Mohammad Rizwan Comparing PSL With IPL, Ex-Pakistan Star's "Rubbish" Verdict

Arguably the best franchise-based cricket tournament in the world, Indian Premier League (IPL) has been entertaining fans for the past 15 seasons and the same has been the case this year as well. However, Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan had suggested that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is the most competitive league in the world. Rizwan had said that players from all over the world want to play in the PSL, rather than the IPL. However, former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has also rubbished the claims made by the wicketkeeper-batter.
