LISBON : An early goal by midfielder Adrien Rabiot earned Juventus a 1-1 draw with Sporting in an entertaining Europa League clash on Thursday to win their quarter-final 2-1 on aggregate and set up a semi-final clash with Sevilla.
Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen, Roma and Seville reached the Europa League semi-finals, and the Conference League will feature West Ham, Basel, Fiorentina and AZ Alkmaar. Roma were 1-0 down after the first leg in Netherlands, but Leonardo Spinazzola levelled the tie on the hour mark. Ad Igor Paixao then scored with 10 minutes of normal time remaining, leaving the away side on the cusp of progressing.

Six-time champion Sevilla eliminated Manchester United from the Europa League on Thursday after a 3-0 victory in the second leg of their quarterfinal. United had beaten Barcelona and Real Betis earlier in Europe’s second-tier competition but couldn’t keep up with Sevilla — currently 13th in the Spanish league — at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium. Forward Youssef En-Nesyri scored twice and Sevilla advanced to the semifinals 5-2 on aggregate after last week’s 2-2 draw in the first leg at Old Trafford.
