Former India opener Shiv Sunder Das could be appointed interim chairman of the national selection committee after Chetan Sharma resigned from the post following a sting operation by a news channel, where he allegedly revealed confidential information. Das played 23 Tests, the most number among the current lot in the selection panel. Chetan and the entire selection committee had earlier been sacked following India's semi-final exit from the T20 World Cup in Australia. He re-applied for the post and was re-appointed as chairman.

IPL 2023 Schedule: Full schedule of matches, venues and time table

IPL 2023 opener in Ahmedabad, the BCCI announced on Friday as it unveiled the schedule for the upcoming season. The 16th edition of the tournament starts from March 31 and the last league match will be played on May 21.All the 10 franchises will play 7 home and 7 away matches during the league phase of the tournament. A total of 70 league matches will be played and will include 18 double headers, the board announced. The league matches will be played over a course of 52 days at 12 venues.

Chief selector Chetan had earlier resigned on Friday after a sting operation caught him gossiping about players and claiming the widespread use of unsanctioned injections to pass fitness tests.Former India opener SS Das, who is from Central Zone, could now be appointed as the interim chairman of the committee as he has played the most number of Tests among the current lot in the selection panel.
