Afghanistan Player 'Takes Break' From Cricket, Slams 'Corrupt' Board

Afghanistan opening batter, Usman Ghani, isn't happy with the state off affairs in the country's cricket board. Having been snubbed for a place in the squad for the upcoming bilateral series against Bangladesh, Ghani has decided to 'take a break' from the game. Hitting out at the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB)'s leadership, Ghani called the bosses 'corrupt', saying he would like to return to the team once the management changes as the current chief selector had no explanation over his absence from the squad.

Bangladesh Compensate Trio For Choosing National Team Over IPL

Bangladesh's cricket authorities said Monday they had compensated three senior cricketers a total of $65,000 for choosing to play for the national team rather than in the lucrative Indian Premier League this season. "This is just a small gesture on our part," Bangladesh Cricket Board cricket operations chief Jalal Yunus told AFP, with the cash to be split three ways between Shakib Al Hasan, Taskin Ahmed and Litton Das. "They did not demand any money from us formally, but we felt they should be at least partially compensated, if not fully". Jalal said this would not be a regular practice.

Amol Muzumdar Set To Become Indian Women's Cricket Team Head Coach

Domestic stalwart Amol Muzumdar is set to become the Indian women's cricket head coach after impressing the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) the most during the interviews of the short-listed candidates in Mumbai on Monday. The CAC comprising Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjpe and Sulakshana Naik found Muzumdar's 90-minute presentation most impressive. The others who were interviewed were former Durham coach Jon Lewis and Tushar Arothe, who had already served as India head coach before resigning in 2018. The development comes days before the commencement of India's tour of Bangladesh. India were without a head coach since December last year when Ramesh Powar was sacked.

"They Made Ball Miss Stumps": Pak Great On Sachin Tendulkar's LBW Call In 2011 World Cup

Former Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal has made a big claim regarding the much-talked-about decision on Sachin Tendulkar's wicket in the 2011 World Cup semi-final in Mohali. Tendulkar was batting at the score of 23 when a delivery from Ajmal hit him on the pad in front of the stumps.
