A new chapter in the history of cricket was written in 1983 after India defeated West Indies to clinch their maiden World Cup title.
Even after 40 years, all the fans look back to that day with big smile on their faces. The Kapil Dev-led side registered a 43-run victory over West Indies in the summit clash on June 25, 1983 at Lord's in England.
With Kapil leading from the front, the likes of Mohinder Amarnath, Sunil Gavaskar, and Roger Binny also contributed in team's victory.
