Former top official Steve Conroy insists rookie refs would never have got away with the blunders Willie Collum has made in in the opening two weekends of the Scottish Premiership season as he branded the SPFL cheapskates for failing to bring in goalline technology.

Conroy reckons Collum made a glaring error in St Johnstone’s 2-0 defeat by Ross County and should have given Liam Gordon a second yellow for his challenge on Yan Dhanda.

He also insists Rangers should have been awarded a spot kick on the opening day for Stuart Findlay holding Connor Goldson. And, talking to https://altindex.com, he hit out after Alex Greive’s goal in St Mirren’s win over Dundee was ruled out.

He said of the Gordon incident: “At the very least it was a yellow card and that would resulted in a red for Liam Gordon. There was no excuse.
