Why Sam Szmodics and Bradley Dack can play together for Blackburn Rovers

Jon Dahl Tomasson has reiterated that Sam Szmodics can play anywhere across Blackburn Rovers' attack and is not in direct competition with Bradley Dack for minutes.

The 26-year-old has thrived playing in the number 10 role at Peterborough United. Amid the fanfare around his arrival, supporters have been discussing where he will fit in and whether Szmodics could limit Dack's involvement.

However, Tomasson has reaffirmed that in his fluid 4-2-3-1, Szmodics can play anywhere across the front. Although there is plenty of competition for places, there is no reason, in his mind, why the two attackers can't feature together. "He can play all the positions up front in the way I play," Tomasson said. "We have a lot of competition and players up front. "All the players can play together.

People have said that Sam Gallagher has only played on the right but no, look at the goal he scored against Celtic, for example. "The movements are flexible within the structures and the spaces." Dack was an unused substitute against Queens Park Rangers and is still playing catch-up on his team-mates after sustaining a knock in pre-season.
