Erik ten Hag has revealed Jadon Sancho is absent for Manchester United's game against Atletico Madrid due to illness. Sancho started in all four of United's matches on their pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia and he travelled with the squad to Norway this weekend, but he wasn't named in Ten Hag's starting line up to play Atletico at the Ullevaal Stadium.

United have a number of players who are ill or injured and Raphael Varane, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Luke Shaw didn't travel to Oslo, but some of those could be involved against Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford tomorrow.
