Red faced Hampden bosses hope to relaunch the big sale of gold dust Euro 2024 tickets to the Tartan Army at 12 o’clock on Thursday after botching today’s planned release.
Fans were expecting to join the mass scramble for seats at Group A games against Germany, Switzerland and Hungary at midday on Wednesday, when the SFA were supposed to open the process to thousands of eligible Scotland Supporters club members.
But, what has been described as a ‘technical’ blunder, meant purchase codes were also sent out to fans who had not met the required points quota to qualify for the first draft of briefs – an error which meant the eagerly awaited 12pm sale had to be postponed ‘until further notice’. Record Sport now understands plans are hurriedly being put in place to start the ticket rush at 12pm on Thursday – 24 hours later than anticipated.
To compound the balls-up, the SFA also issued fans with a blooper riddled email in which they attempted to explain the reason for the delay, while getting the days and dates of two of the three key group fixtures wrong.
