Celtic left Warsaw with their first Champions League group stage point after a 1-1 draw against Shakhtar Donetsk. But they will be ruing missed chances on a night where they caused the Ukrainian's all sorts of bother without finding that decisive goal.
The Hoops took a deserved lead after 10 minutes when Reo Hatate 's effort deflected off Artem Bondarenko and into the net. However in-form winger Mykhaylo Mudryk equalised on 29 minutes with the hosts ending the first half with the momentum.
Ange Postecoglou made a tactical tweak at the break, taking Sead Haksabanovic off in place of Daizen Maeda. The Japanese striker had several gilt-edged chances to score in the second half while Giorgos Giakoumakis and Matt O'Riley also blazed efforts over the bar.
And Aiden McGeady, Chris Sutton and Pat Bonner all agreed that Postecoglou's decision making and substitutions were key to the Hoops' performance although they acknowledge that they should've been taking all three points back to Glasgow.
