Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta warned his players about Manchester United's threat on the counter prior to Sunday's clash at the Emirates Stadium.
United started cautiously against the Gunners but hit the front on 27 minutes when Christian Eriksen intercepted a pass to feed Marcus Rashford who cut inside and fired home.
But less than a minute later the hosts were level as Martin Odegaard fired in from just inside the box. Substitute Alejandro Garnacho thought he won it in the 88th minute for the visitors but VAR adjudged he was offside.
And Arsenal made the most of the let-off as Declan Rice scored with a deflected strike in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
