Weather forces Aberdeen vs Motherwell to be OFF as Storm Gerrit claims second Premiership fixture

Aberdeen’s clash with Motherwell has been called off as Storm Gerrit claims its second Scottish Premiership fixture – and the second in succession for the Dons.

The Scottish Premiership clash had a warning label stuck on it earlier in the day as Dons chief executive Alan Burrows sought to assure fans that as of this morning, the game was going ahead.

Storm Gerrit has not relented though and due to the horrendous weather and travel conditions, the game will now ned to be rescheduled, with the decision taken just short of four hours before kick off.

Burrows took to social media to explain the reasons behind the decision: "Whilst much of Pittodrie has been battered by significant rain and gale force winds, the stadium itself and the pitch have coped admirably well.
