Yashasvi effected one of the rare modes of run-outs during India's second T20I against Afghanistan in Indore on Sunday. While a batter getting runout is quite a common scene in the field of cricket, it is rare to see both the batter and the fielder engaging in a sprint race towards the stumps during the dismissal.

The latter case happened when Jaiswal and Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi both ran at the non-striker's end with full might the Indian star winning the race and running his opponent out.

On the final delivery of the Afghanistan innings, Arshdeep Singh bowled a yorker to Naveen-ul-Haq with Farooqi being at the non-striker's end.

The batters took a single before an attempted run-out throw from wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma missed the stumps and went towards Jaiswal at square leg.

Veteran India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is in awe of Yashasvi Jaiswal's batting in only his fifth Test, saying the youngster has not put a foot wrong in his 76-run knock against England and has taken to the five-day format "like a fish to water". Jaiswal was unbeaten after playing 70 balls, hitting nine boundaries and three sixes on the opening day of the first Test. Along with skipper Rohit Sharma (24), he shared 80 runs for the opening stand to take India to 119 for one in their first innings in reply to England's 246.
The rollicking 80 that Yashasvi Jaiswal made against England in the first Test in Hyderabad is a validation of the team management's belief that the left-hander is India's next all-format opener. Jaiswal might have used a cliche - intent to play positive cricket - to describe his 74-ball blitz that gave India early momentum against the visitors, but the knock is certain to resonate more deeply within the walls of the dressing room. "I don't think it was any tactic (attacking England spinners early on Thursday evening), as I was just thinking to play well against certain balls, play some positive shots," Jaiswal humbly offered in his post-day press meet on Friday.
Afghanistan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz on Friday revealed that he has been taking batting tips from India's batting talisman Virat Kohli and World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni on how to improve his performance. In the recently concluded three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, Gurbaz notched up 87 runs in 3 innings. In the last T20I, he smashed a half-century in 32 balls and stitched up a 93-run stand with Ibrahim Zadran giving his team a chance to fight back against India.
Former India opener Aakash Chopra has suggested that Yashasvi Jaiswal is slightly ahead of Shubman Gill in the pecking order as captain Rohit Sharma's partner at the top in T20Is. Since making his debut last year, Jaiswal has been in stunning form in the shortest format of the game. Gill's form, on the other hand, has dipped since the ODI World Cup last year in India. With the T20 World Cup scheduled to be held later this year, Chopra feels Jaiswal will open the innings with Rohit during the tournament.
IND vs AFG Live Cricket Score: Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal are batting in top-gear as India are off to a solid start against Afghanistan in the third and final T20I in Bengaluru. India skipper Rohit won the toss and opted to bat first. India eye a series-sweep as they have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. India are playing with three changes. Sanju Samson, Avesh Khan and Kuldeep Yadav have replaced Jitesh Sharma, Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel. (Live Scorecard)
