West Indies batter Alzarri Joseph survived despite being run out in a bizarre incident during the second T20I match against Australia in Adelaide on Sunday.

During the 19th over of the West Indies innings, Joseph went for a quick single but the throw from Mitchell Marsh was extremely quick and the bowler Spencer Johnson dislodged the bails with the batter short of the crease.

However, the batter was not given out as none of the Australian players including the bowler appealed for it. Marsh started celebrating after the replay was shown on the big screen but the umpire did not change his decision.

Australia all-rounder Tim David was heard saying "this is ridiculous" following the umpire's decision. "Neither umpire shall give a batter out, even though he/she may be out under the Laws, unless appealed to by a fielder.
